Our Pediatric psychological services

Psycho educational assessments is for children facing challenges in learning, school settings or with peers. It involves determining the child’s cognitive, learning and behavioural functioning skills and providing solution for parents and teachers for any particular area that may need more attention.

Assessment of Giftedness is for children 5 years and older. It involves determining the child’s intellectual capability compared to older children in order to place them in higher academic standing or schools that are specific to gifted children.

Social-Emotional Assessments is  for children 3 years and older. It involves finding solution for the child’s social, emotional and behavioural issues involving low self-esteem, anger, depression, anxiety and defiance.

ADHD Assessments is for children facing challenges such as poor listening skills, squirming and fidgeting, difficulty playing quietly, inappropriate movement, excessive chattiness, tempered and emotional meltdown. It involves diagnosis of the ADHD in the child and ruling out any other cause for such behaviours and early intervention.

Cognitive Profile Assessments is used in children to identify their unique learning patterns, core cogitative trait,  and to design the appropriate study materials or to determine the career path that may be best suitable for students pursuing higher education. It is mostly requested by parents to determine the strength and weakness of their child and rule out any potential disorders or to help their child with greater potential by choosing the path in which the child possess higher strength.

Autistic Spectrum Disorders Assessments is recommended for children 2 years and older. It involves analyzing the child’s environmental, developmental and family nurturing to diagnose and treat the child. It also requires the assistance of the multidisciplinary team to conduct some of the tests involving ASD.

Psychologist services are not covered by public health insurance ( OHIP), however your extended health insurance benefits may cover the expenses. You are required to check with your insurance provider for details. You may also apply to ” 100 Kids Per Year” initiative to be accepted for funding through Amazing Kids Foundation.
